What Is Math Sprint?
Math Sprint is a fast-paced arithmetic game that tests your mental math skills under pressure. You have 60 seconds to solve as many problems as possible. Type your answer and press Enter to submit. Each correct answer earns points, and consecutive correct answers build a streak multiplier that boosts your score. The faster and more accurately you solve, the higher you climb.
How It Works
When you click Start, the 60-second countdown begins. A math problem appears—addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division depending on your chosen difficulty. Type the answer in the input field and press Enter. If you're correct, you earn base points multiplied by your current streak. Get one wrong and your streak resets to 1. The game uses crypto.getRandomValues() to generate every problem, ensuring fair, unpredictable arithmetic. No patterns, no repetition bias—just pure random math.
Difficulty Levels
Easy uses single-digit addition and subtraction (e.g., 7 + 4, 9 − 3). Perfect for warming up or younger players. Normal steps up to double-digit addition and subtraction (e.g., 47 + 28, 91 − 35). Hard focuses on multiplication and division with smaller numbers (e.g., 6 × 8, 48 ÷ 6). Expert mixes all four operations with larger numbers, including multi-digit multiplication and division. Choose the level that matches your skill and push yourself to improve.
Scoring and Streaks
Each correct answer earns base points. Your streak multiplier starts at 1× and increases by 1 for every consecutive correct answer. A 5-question streak means 5× points per correct answer. Miss one and the streak drops back to 1. This rewards both speed and consistency. Your personal best score is saved in your browser's localStorage, so you can track improvement over time. Session statistics show how many problems you solved correctly in the current browsing session.
Instant Feedback
The input field flashes green when you answer correctly and red when you're wrong. This instant visual feedback helps you stay in the flow and correct mistakes quickly. There's no penalty for wrong answers beyond losing your streak—so take your best guess and keep going. The timer never stops, so every second counts.
Why Mental Math Matters
Mental arithmetic strengthens number sense, improves concentration, and builds confidence with numbers. Whether you're splitting a bill, estimating a tip, or checking a receipt, quick mental math is a practical skill. Math Sprint turns practice into a game—no worksheets, no drills, just you against the clock. Regular practice can improve both speed and accuracy over time.
Tips for Higher Scores
- Know your times tables. On Hard and Expert, multiplication and division dominate. Memorizing 1–12 times tables pays off.
- Use shortcuts. For division, think in terms of multiplication. 72 ÷ 8 is "what times 8 equals 72?"
- Stay calm. Rushing leads to typos and wrong answers. Accuracy beats speed when wrong answers reset your streak.
- Practice regularly. A few rounds each day will sharpen your reflexes and number fluency.
Free and Private
Math Sprint runs entirely in your browser. No account required, no data sent to servers. Your personal best is stored locally. The game works offline once loaded. Perfect for a quick brain break, classroom warm-up, or competitive practice with friends. Give it a try and see how high you can score in 60 seconds.
